Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (3 oz / 85 g) strawberry or cherry-flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold water
  • 1 envelope (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka
  • 1 box (3 oz / 85 g) blue raspberry-flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: Pour 1 cup boiling water into a bowl with the strawberry or cherry gelatin powder. Stir for about 2 minutes until fully dissolved. Add 1/2 cup vodka and stir gently. Pour this mixture into shot cups, filling each about one-third full. Chill in the fridge for 30–40 minutes until firm but slightly tacky.
  2. Make the White Layer: Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes. Combine sweetened condensed milk and remaining 1/2 cup cold water in a mixing bowl. Warm the bloomed gelatin gently, then whisk into the milk mixture until smooth. Add 1/2 cup vodka and mix well. Pour gently over the red layer. Chill for another 30–40 minutes until set.
  3. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve blue raspberry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stir in 1/2 cup vodka. Cool for about 5 minutes (do not let set), then carefully pour over the white layer. Chill for at least 2 hours until fully set.
  4. Serve chilled. Optionally garnish with fresh blueberries or a small dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

Pour each layer slowly over the back of a spoon to prevent colors from blending. Chill each layer until firm but slightly tacky before adding the next. For non-alcoholic versions, substitute vodka with sparkling water or soda. Vegan adaptations can use agar-agar instead of gelatin but texture will vary. Store leftovers covered in the fridge up to 3 days; avoid freezing.
