A festive and flavorful Halloween pizza shaped like a witch’s hat, decorated with black olives and bell peppers for a perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ball of store-bought or homemade pizza dough (about 12 oz / 340 g)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing the crust)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2025 black olive slices
  • 1 medium red or orange bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Place your pizza stone inside if using, to heat thoroughly (about 30 minutes).
  2. Lightly flour your work surface. Roll or stretch your pizza dough into a triangle shape approximately 12 inches wide at the base and 10 inches tall.
  3. Brush the dough edges with olive oil to help them brown and add flavor.
  4. In a small bowl, mix tomato sauce, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  5. Spread the sauce evenly over the dough, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the sauce, covering the triangle except the crust.
  7. Arrange black olive slices in a horizontal line about 2 inches from the base to create the ‘hatband’. Reserve a few olives for ‘eyes’.
  8. Place thin bell pepper slices above the olive line in small clusters as decorative accents.
  9. Create the ‘face’ near the pointed tip by placing two olive slices as eyes and a small triangle of bell pepper for a nose.
  10. Transfer the pizza onto the hot pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is crisp and slightly charred.
  11. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
  12. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Keep an eye on the pizza after 10 minutes to avoid drying out toppings. Let the pizza rest before slicing to prevent cheese from sliding. Use firm black olives for best decoration. For a crispier crust, bake on the lowest oven rack or directly on a preheated pizza stone.
