A quick and comforting one-pan meal featuring ground beef, broccoli, and a sweet-spicy honey sriracha sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • 3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced thin
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • Cooked jasmine rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

  1. Rinse and cut broccoli into bite-sized florets. Mince garlic and grate ginger. Set aside all sauce ingredients measured out.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 7-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger with the beef, cooking until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Avoid burning by stirring frequently.
  4. Add broccoli florets and stir to combine. Add 2 tablespoons water, cover the pan with a lid or foil, and steam for 3-4 minutes until broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp. Add an extra minute if softer broccoli is desired.
  5. Pour in honey, sriracha, and soy sauce. Stir well to coat everything evenly. Let the sauce simmer gently until it thickens slightly and becomes glossy, about 2-3 minutes. Adjust heat by adding more sriracha if desired.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if using.
  7. Serve immediately over warm jasmine rice or noodles.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure beef browns properly. Use fresh garlic and ginger for best flavor. Steam broccoli just until tender-crisp to maintain texture and color. Adjust sriracha to control spice level. Drain excess fat if beef is too greasy to prevent oily sauce. Sauce thickness can be adjusted by simmering longer or adding a splash of water.
