  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • Optional: 1 cup crushed cornflakes for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 9×13 baking dish lightly with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, shredded cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, melted butter, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
  3. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  4. If using crushed cornflakes for topping, sprinkle them generously over the casserole.
