Tender potato gnocchi pan-fried to golden perfection, tossed with garlic and freshly grated Parmesan for a restaurant-worthy dish that’s quick and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces potato gnocchi (store-bought, fresh)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced or thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the gnocchi in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, undisturbed, until the bottoms are golden and crispy.
  3. Flip the gnocchi using a spatula and cook for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring all sides are crispy.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Let it melt, then add the minced garlic.
  5. Cook the garlic for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant but not browned.
  6. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the gnocchi and gently toss until melted and evenly distributed.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If using parsley, sprinkle it over the gnocchi for garnish.
  8. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

[‘Don’t overcrowd the pan; cook gnocchi in batches if necessary.’, ‘Let the gnocchi sit undisturbed to create a golden crust.’, ‘Add garlic towards the end to prevent burning.’, ‘Freshly grated Parmesan melts better than pre-shredded cheese.’, ‘Experiment with add-ins like spinach, cherry tomatoes, or cooked sausage for variety.’]
