A quick and easy air fryer salmon recipe featuring a sweet and spicy honey sriracha glaze with a crispy skin finish, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets (about 6 ounces / 170 grams each)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (preferably raw)
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (white or black)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat dry 4 skin-on salmon fillets with paper towels to help achieve crispiness. Season lightly with salt and pepper on both sides. (5 minutes)
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons honey, 1 tablespoon sriracha, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice (optional). Taste and adjust spice or sweetness if needed. (3 minutes)
  3. Using a pastry brush or spoon, liberally coat the top of each salmon fillet with the honey sriracha glaze. Reserve a little glaze for serving. (3 minutes)
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3 minutes to help get the skin crispy right away.
  5. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch. Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 7-9 minutes depending on thickness. The salmon should be opaque and flake easily with a fork. (7-9 minutes)
  6. Check for doneness: 7 minutes for medium-rare (125°F / 52°C), 9 minutes for fully cooked (145°F / 63°C).
  7. Remove salmon carefully from the air fryer. Immediately sprinkle with 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds and drizzle with any reserved glaze if desired. (1 minute)
  8. Serve hot with your favorite sides such as steamed veggies, rice, or a fresh salad.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before seasoning to ensure crispy skin. Preheat air fryer for best results. Avoid flipping fillets; cook skin-side down only. Lightly spray air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness. Glaze can be adjusted for spice level and sweetness. Leftovers can be reheated in air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes.
