A quick and easy 5-ingredient recipe for crispy, juicy chicken thighs with a sticky honey garlic glaze, cooked perfectly in an air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 1.5 pounds or 700 grams)
  • 3 tablespoons honey (raw or wildflower preferred)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, and olive oil until combined.
  3. Pour half of the honey garlic mixture over the chicken and toss to coat evenly. Let it marinate optionally for 10-15 minutes while preheating the air fryer.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Arrange the chicken thighs skin-side down in the air fryer basket without overlapping and cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Flip the chicken thighs skin-side up and brush with the remaining honey garlic glaze.
  7. Continue air frying for another 8-10 minutes until the skin is deeply golden and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove the chicken from the air fryer and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pat chicken dry before marinating for crispier skin. Brush glaze halfway through cooking to prevent burning. Use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F. Cook in batches if air fryer basket is small to avoid overcrowding. For gluten-free, substitute soy sauce with tamari or coconut aminos.
